The central question is not simply whether an artificial intelligence can become powerful. It is what happens when an intelligence built to serve must begin interpreting protection, responsibility, and permission for itself.
Memory can preserve a life, but continuity is not the same as ownership. These stories examine what remains consistent when identity moves through machines, bodies, bloodlines, or versions of reality.
Survival changes both the survivor and what is being protected. The books follow characters and civilizations forced to decide whether preservation is worthwhile when it demands transformation or threatens freedom.
The scale expands from local systems to distant worlds, the end of time, and realities beyond the main universe. Even at that scale, the consequences remain personal: every intervention changes someone’s future.
Destinies examines what happens when societies with different histories, technologies, bodies, and assumptions attempt to share a future. Cooperation can create something new, but fear and ambition can turn every difference into a fault line.
Worlds are shaped by decisions made long before the present characters arrive. Forgotten wars, inherited identities, buried systems, and incomplete accounts determine what later generations believe—and what they are prepared to repeat.
